Virtual Summer Learning Program

The YMCA, through a generous grant from BellXcel and in support by Scholastic Learning, is offering a four week Virtual Summer Learning Program for any student entering grades 1-4 in our community.

Children will receive grade level instruction by certified and licensed teachers from our YMCA and Bellingham Public Schools teaching staff. The daily program will include lessons focusing on reading, math, social emotional learning and enrichment. Because this program is offered through a generous grant by BellXcel, the program is offered at no cost to families. We just ask you to commit to the full four weeks.(limited absences are okay.)

Sessions are driven by weekly topics that will provide each child an opportunity for sharing, and a strong emphasis on content through review and applications of mathematics and literacy concepts that are fundamental for their age group.

  • Where: Virtual Sessions from your home
  • When: Starts July 20th and ends August 13th
  • Days/Hours: Monday through Thursday; up to 4 hours per day of learning
  • Who: Students entering Grade 1-4
  • Cost: Free

The program will be offered virtually with up to four hours of learning content each day. Children do not need to be YMCA members to participate. All participants will receive a family package of materials to use at home for extended learning.

Help make your child’s transition to the next grade level with success.
