FIRST AID & SAFETY TRAINING

Safety training programs in areas such as babysitting and CPR, with AS&H or YMCA completion certification.

Safety training programs makes protecting and saving lives possible. In Franklin, Foxboro, and North Attleboro we offer a unique classroom setting that encourages discussion helping young adults as they grow in their desire and ability to be a positive force in the community.

The Hockomock Area YMCA is pleased to offer life skill training for youth ages 11-15 in the areas of babysitting, CPR, and first aid. The following courses, upon completion, will offer certification paperwork.

Babysitting Course

Our babysitting class provides kids ages 11+ with knowledge and skills to care for infants and children. Participants will better understand and be able to meet the challenges of babysitting through increased confidence and skill. Student handbook will be provided and, upon course completion, American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) certification card will also be given.

CPR Course

Great opportunity for teens to learn a life saving skill. Participants who pass this class will receive CPR Certification.

First Aid Training

Youth in our first aid class will understand and be prepared to meet safety issues through development of skills. Participants will be given a student handbook and certification.

Lifeguard Certification

The Y offers an intensive, 3-day lifeguard certification course scheduled over one weekend or multiple days coinciding with school break weeks. Our program is led by certified lifeguard instructors and professional aquatics directors. Students get hands on training (in the pool), with practical experience in essential lifeguard skills. We also offer lifeguard recertification. For details, view our Lifeguard Training page.
