Let's Give The K Girls the Celebration They Deserve!
Join us at The Franklin 5K as we celebrate Kris & Kayla Biagiotti’s accomplishment of becoming the 1st mother/daughter team to finish the Boston Marathon. Only 50 yds from the finish line when a bomb exploded, they were forced to shield themselves from flying shrapnel. Read their emotional story here.
Everyone is invited to come cheer on The K Girls! The Franklin 5K (formerly called Run for Bob) was started to honor Bob Biagiotti, Kris' late husband & Kayla’s dad. Bob believed that no child should have to sit on the sidelines. This is a fun family event, which has become a true celebration of children of all abilities.
Since 2005, the event has raised $75k, allowing children with special needs to participate alongside their typically developing peers in social and recreational programs and activities. Kayla has been participating as a volunteer at the YMCA with children and adults from her community. To see her smile when you walk into the branch is a true testament to what this work is all about. With continued support from people like you, we will be assured that other kids have the opportunity to participate in our YMCA.
So come out, whether to run, walk, roll, or cheer. Enjoy children's activities, free refreshments, raffle prizes, and more! All participants receive a finisher's medal. All ages welcome.
