Healthy Kids Day is an annual day filled with fun and creative healthy living activities for the entire family. This year's event was celebrated by 1,600 YMCAs with the aim of bringing together community and encouraging healthier behaviors through exercise and nutrition. Healthy Kids Day is FREE to the community and took place Sat. May 16, 2015 at Patriot Place. It was a great way to kick off summer! Sun Chronicle 

Our 2015 Reach Out for Youth and Families Campaign Breakfast was held on March 17 at Gillette Stadium. Volunteers, community partners, and friends came together to help friends and neighbors in need. Special guest speakers included New England Patriots Chariman and CEO Robert Kraft and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker. The YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program supports adults who are at a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This 1-year program provides a welcoming environment where participants work together in a small group to learn about healthier eating and develop increased physical activity. The program can be offered outside of YMCA walls in a community setting and is led by a Y-USA trained facilitator. Through the Spier Family SPLASH Program, first and second graders in Foxborough Public Schools can take a free swim class session at the Hockomock Area YMCA's Invensys Foxboro Branch. The initiative strives to improve water safety skills and give more kids the opportunity to enjoy a lifetime of recreational swimming.  Sun Chronicle 

On November 18th, we held our ninth Legends Ball, the signature event for our Y's innovative Integration Initiative. Nate Solder was honored with the Legends Ball Award in recognition of his commitment and passion towards our Y and the children and families that are part of this transformational program. On a beautiful fall day, we hosted our 5th annual Legends Golf Classic, bringing local area sports legends together to support our Integration Initiative. The event included an exciting afternoon of golf on the world-class TPC Boston course—home of the Deutsche Bank Championship—followed by dinner and a live auction program. The Hockomock Area YMCA is proud to continue its partnership with TPC Boston to create a memorable experience. A Win-Win for Rodman at annual ride: we are proud to partner with Don Rodman to support children in our community. In this 3rd year of participating, the Hockomock Y team enjoyed a successful event. FoxboroReporter 9.24.14

Happy 100th Birthday to Stop & Shop. The Hockmock Y's partnership with Stop & Shop has made possible our Healthy Futures Initiative which incoroporates prevention and intervention based strategies to ensure we are supporting families in our communities. Through the Stop & Shop Shape Up! Mini-Grant Program, 96 grants have been awarded totaling $97,229 impacting 48,348 individuals in 13 commuities since 2009. Foxborough Patch 9.17.14

Participants in our Theatre Camp were welcomed to the Comcast Center and received a tour of the facility and the chance to rehearse on the stage graced by some of the world’s greatest and legendary entertainers. Mansfield Patch 7.20.13

June 1 was a beautiful day for our 10th annual Franklin 5K. Proceeds benefit the Integration Initiative which allows children with special needs to participate alongside their typically developing peers in YMCA programs and activities.

We were proud to host Child Protection Activist Elizabeth Smart on May 8, 2014. “There is so much all of us can do. One person can make a huge difference. All of us should raise our voices so loud and not stop until there is change,” says Elizabeth on the topic of child abuse prevention. Thanks to all in our community who attended. Elizabeth inspired us with her courageous message to remain hopeful in times of crisis and protect & empower children.

Brian Earley and Michael Patch return to lead the charge in the Hockomock Area YMCA’s 2014 Reach Out for Youth and Families Campaign. We are recruiting more than 400 volunteers to help tell the story of the Y and its impact. The campaign officially kicked off on March 27th at the our annual breakfast. TPC Boston hosted golf clinics for the Hockomock Area YMCA's Integration Initiative participants and their siblings. Youth had a great day getting lessons from the professional staff and meeting local sports legends who attended to support the initiative.  Sun Chronicle 7.15.13   

A Flag Day Dedication Ceremony on June 14, 2013 honored the memory of Lance Corporal Shayne Cabino of the United States Marine Corps and a Franklin resident. The "K Girls" Celebrated at our Franklin 5K
Kris & Kayla Biagiotti, the first mother-daughter team to complete the Boston Marathon & event founders to honor their deceased husband & father, received their Marathon medals & a citation from Rep. We continued the traditions of Father's Day,
strengthening families throughout the year through parent-child programs available in swimming, dance, gymnastics, enrichment, and sports and through community events that bring together people with like interests.  We truly value dads & their impact on their children's lives!   FranklinMatters - June 13, 2013  

Hockomock Y Joined 1,900 YMCA's in Celebrating Healthy Kids Day
The annual Healthy Kids Dany is a national YMCA initiative aimed at improving families' health and well-being. We shared the fun with 2,000 neighbors and friends who came out to share the morning with us at Patriot Place.
