Confidential Scholarship Assistance Through Donor Generosity!

Thanks to the generosity of our members and friends, the Hockomock Area YMCA is available to everyone in our community regardless of their ability to pay.  You can join us in helping to offer the benefits of participation in the programs and activities of the Hockomock Area YMCA by contributing to the annual Reach Out for Youth & Families Campaign.  Proceeds provide confidential scholarship assistance and program subsidies to any of our programs, activities, and services.  Applications are available at the Member Service Desks at our four branches. If you know of any individual or family that would benefit from the YMCA experience but cannot afford to pay, please contact your Branch Executive.

Q. How is my contribution used?
A. Every dollar given goes directly to provide financial assistance to individuals, children and families who cannot afford the full cost of a YMCA program or activity.

Q. Specifically, which programs do my dollars help fund?
A. The majority of annual support provides scholarships to programs like summer camp, childcare, after school child care, youth sports, swim lessons, teen activities, youth and family memberships.  In addition, single parent families and others can receive financial assistance for membership according to their individual financial need.

Q. How does someone get a YMCA scholarship?
A. The YMCA has a financial aid application, which a parent or individual must complete.  Applications are available at the Member Service Desk.  The application process is confidential.  The YMCA determines the need based on this information.  The YMCA usually requires the financial aid recipient to pay a portion of the program or membership, even if the amount they can afford is very small.

Q. How can I help the YMCA as a Reach Out for Youth & Families volunteer?
A. As ambassadors of the Hockomock Area YMCA, our campaign volunteers are our most essential resource.  Not only do volunteers help us raise critical scholarship dollars, they also educate the community on the vital mission work of the Hockomock Area YMCA.
