Teens

Youth and teen programming and activities are very important at the Hockomock Area YMCA.  All four branches offer a supportive, caring environment for young adults.  Teens participate in classes and work out in the facilities. They also take part in activities to build leadership skills and provide community service.  The centers provide a friendly atmosphere for teens to relax, do homework, meet with friends and interact with peers.

At the Bernon Family Branch in Franklin the new Youth & Teen Center includes a computer lab, a teen activity center/teen lounge, and a multi-function community room.  These facilities provide space to offer homework help, computer classes, leadership development programs, and recreational and drop-in opportunities.  The Bernon Family Branch in Franklin now offers dances and teen nights utilizing the gymnasium and added program space.  For more information regarding dances, teen nights, Middle School and Junior Leadership programs, please call 508.528.8708.

At the Invensys Foxboro Branch youth and teens enjoy the use of the nearby Sharon Teen Center Inc.  The Invensys Foxboro Branch Teen Program Director, Dan DeMars, also serves as the Director of the Sharon Teen Center---The Attic. Sharing teen resources is a collaborative initiative that demonstrates the development of successful teen services for all of the communities served by the Invensys Foxboro Branch. For more information, please call 508-543-2523.

At the Mansfield Branch a number of after school clubs meet to provide leadership development and extra-curricular activities for youth and teens. For more information call the branch at 508-339-3066.

At the North Attleboro Branch teens are offered a variety of activities within the Joan S. Morse Youth and Family Wellness Center, as well as throughout the entire building and at the North Attleboro Teen Center---The Zone.  (Please contact Dawn DaCosta at 508-643-5270 for more information and a schedule of activities). Teens can participate in several teen specific fitness classes such as pilates and yoga, or workout in our supervised fitness center or in the Youth Fitness Center at the North Attleboro Branch. Teens may enjoy drop-in basketball, family swims, and other fun and fitness-related activities. For more information, please call 508-695-7001.
