Ropes Course

PROGRAM LOCATIONS
The Hockomock Area YMCA's Ropes Challenge Course and Teambuilding programs take place on the scenic woodland site of the North Attleboro Branch and Bernon Family Branch outdoor centers across from the main buildings!

One- and two-day programs are available to college students, church groups, schools, Scout troops, corporate groups, and other teams committed to forming stronger bonds among members. Also, the Ropes Course is available for parties at the Bernon Family Branch in Franklin.

We have an ongoing working relationship with Wing Speed Adventures, the company responsible for annual inspections, maintenance, and repairing our low and high ropes courses.

For pricing information and scheduling details contact the Bernon Family Branch at 508-528-8708 or the North Attleboro Branch at 508-695-7001.

PROGRAM STAFF
All staff have been trained in teambuilding activities as well as in low and high challenge course programming. The Ropes Course staff members are highly trained and educated, have more than 40 years of combined experience, and have worked with tens of thousands of participants of all age groups. They will make your teambuilding experience a rewarding one through appropriate goal setting, solid experiences, observations, and testing in new situations.

GROUP INITIATIVES
Group initiatives are exciting and fun activities that help develop the eight characteristics of a successful team. Each group will be given tasks that will challenge both the physical and mental abilities of the group. As group members solve problems through cooperative discussion and planning they learn to respect one another and work together as a team.

LOW ELEMENTS
The low elements challenge the group to climb, balance, or maneuver through a series of obstacle only a few feet off the ground. Participants develop trust in each other and learn to rely on the team for support. The activity as well as group discussion strengthen communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills among group members.

HIGH ELEMENTS
High elements (those 15-60 feet in the air) challenge individuals physically and emotionally and encourage participants to become aware of their limitations and work toward overcoming them for personal growth, increased self-esteem, and heightened awareness of others' needs for safety and support. Participants are secured by a safety harness and are attached to a belay rope that is controlled by a trained instructor.
