Our Mission
"The one 'luxury' every homeless family said was the most demeaning to go without is the abilty to take a hot, private shower.  After all our fun at the Y, my daughter and I are allowed this fundamental benefit: a hot shower." Financial Scholarship Recipient.

Molding Young People: In 2009, our YMCA funded over $150,000 for local children to attend summer camp

Strengthening Families: Last year, the YMCA gave over $1 million in confidential financial scholarship assistance.

Our Mission

The Hockomock Area YMCA is a not-for-profit charitable community service organization of men, women, and children of all ages, ethnic origins, religious affiliations, and socioeconomic levels united in a common effort to positively influence the quality of life of its members, families, and communities.  Based on the foundation of Judeo-Christian values, our programs and activities emphasize the development of the whole person in spirit, mind, and body and are available to all individuals regardless on their ability to pay.

Each day, our YMCA works to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.  Donor support of Reach Out for Youth & Families ensures that the benefits of our mission-driven programs and services are extended to neighbors in need. Click here for the Financial Assistance Form.

"With the aid of the staff and programs at the Bernon Family Branch, I am providing my five-year-old daughter Madison and myself with a positive new outlet into life. As a sergeant in the Marines, I was wounded in the attack of Fallujah, Iraq in 2004. Following many surgeries, I have peroneal nerve palsy
from my right knee down."

"When I was hospitalized, I was a fit 215 pounds and when I left the hospital to come home as a disabled veteran, I weighed 330 pounds. As a single father, getting back to good health and fitness is paramount and the Y’s scholarship program plays a major role in making that dream a reality."

"My daughter Madison is truly a special girl. The financial assistance we were awarded to experience the Y provides us with a membership as well as the ability for Madison to go to Childwatch while I exercise. She also attends Summer Camp where she is able to laugh, play, and grow with other kids her age. I can’t thank the Y and its donors to this Campaign enough. Their generosity makes our experiences possible."
