Active Adult Programs at Hockomock Area YMCA
Our next Active Older Adults meeting will take place on Thursday, April 14 at 12:00pm at the North Attleboro Branch (multipurpose room)
Keep active and have fun! Have the chance to keep active and grow in spirit, mind, and body while meeting new friends and participating in a wide range of activities. Check out our Live Y'ers Newsletter (above) for upcoming social opportunities and events!
Live Y'ers is a social club for people interested in exploring similar interests while having fun in a group setting. Annual membership is FREE for Y members and only $30 for nonmembers. In addition to regular meetings, the club also plans day and overnight trips, learning opportunities, special events, exercise classes, and more! Pick and choose what you participate in based on your interests and passions.
The club meets on the third Tuesday of the month. We look forward to your participation in the activities planned for the coming months.
In addition to participating in all of our regular ongoing fitness opportunities, seniors have the added benefit of special senior fitness and strength-training classes. Choose from Zumba Gold, Tai Chi, Gentle Yoga, Water Aerobics, and more. Pick up a current schedule at any Member Service Desk.
Zumba Gold® – Is a modified Zumba Fitness class to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Enjoy zesty Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton with easy-to-follow moves in a party-like atmosphere!
Special Interests Book Discussions are held in North Attleboro the 2nd Tues. of the month at 1:30pm.
Educational Seminars are held periodically on topics of interest, including health & personal finances.
Tuesday Night Dinner Club meets the 3rd Thursday at 6:00 pm for dinner at a local restaurant.
Active Older Adult Day in September features local vendors, activities and workshops at our North Attleboro Branch. We provide continental breakfast, barbeque lunch, live music and informative tips from community organizations like GATRA, CVNA, Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Ameriprise Financial.
