The Hockomock Area YMCA was formed when the Franklin and North Attleboro YMCAs merged in the spring of 1972.

1901 - The Franklin YMCA is formed
1909 - The Franklin YMCA begins a capital campaign for a permanent building
1911 - The Franklin YMCA opens its new building (now the Masonic Temple)
1911 - The North Attleboro YMCA is formed
1925 - The North Attleboro YMCA moves into the former Grand Army of the Republic building
1972 - The Franklin and North Attleboro YMCAs merge to become the Hockomock Area YMCA
1972 - George Kissick leaves his estate to the Hockomock Area YMCA
1972 - The Kissick Fund is used to purchase a 27-acre plot of land atop Watery Hill in North Attleboro
1973 - A capital campaign is launched to construct a 17,000 square foot facility on Elmwood Street in North Attleboro
1975 - The new building, complete with a gymnasium and swimming pool, opens at 300 Elmwood Street
1981 - The annual sustaining campaign, Reach Out for Youth & Families, begins
1983 - Top of the Hill Nursery School opens in North Attleboro
1983 - The Franklin Program Center opens at the Masonic Temple - the site of the former Franklin YMCA
1984 - The Franklin Program Center moves to a storefront location on Cottage Street
1986 - The Gerald Riley fitness center is dedicated at the North Attleboro Branch
1988 - The Franklin Branch opens at 45 Forge Hill Road on land donated by National Development of New England
1989 - A new Children's Center building opens in North Attleboro at the Elmwood Street facility
1997 - The Mansfield Program Center opens at the former John Berry School on Balcom Street
2001 - The North Attleboro Branch is expanded to include a new Gymnastics center, a new 5,293 square foot Health & Wellness Center, and the Joan S. Morse Teen Center, as well as other multi-purpose program space
2003 - The Foxboro Branch opens at 67 Mechanic Street on land donated by Foxboro Invensys
2004 - Renovation and a 34,336 square foot expansion is completed at the Franklin Branch, which is renamed the Bernon Family Branch in honor of Alan Bernon and his family
2006 - The North Attleboro Branch undergoes reconstruction, converting the original community room to a Youth and Family Wellness Center that features sportswalls, Dance Dance Revolution, specialized cardio and strength-training equipment
2006 - The North Attleboro Branch renames its teen center as "The Zone" and relocated to 45 Elm Street.
2007 - The Bernon Family Branch opens its outdoor pool: the Dean Bank Outdoor Pool.
2007 - Renovations and reinvented programming are unveiled as the curtain rises on the newly converted Mansfied Arts and Education Center, formerly known as the Manfield Branch
2007 - Construction begins for the Foxboro Branch Phase II, which includes two swimming pools, a gymnasium, a youth and teen center, increased wellness center space, a specialized youth and teen fitness center, a kids' gym, and more
